Opera in Concert announces its third season

General Director Heather Ross announced Opera in Concert’s 2016-2017 season, “We are delighted to be starting our third season, which promises to be our most exciting yet! We are scheduling three complete operas, and our very successful student training program will be returning to Italy in 2017.”

The new season begins Dec. 3, 2016 in Kurth Hall at the Sammons Center, with “Mozart and Salieri: The Mystery Continues”. This performance features a complete performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s dramatic opera Mozart and Salieri (sung in English), along with operatic excerpts by both composers.

In the spring we will visit Merry Olde EnglandĀ  for “Britain’s Best”, including complete performances of Arthur Sullivan’s delightfully silly Cox and Box and Gustav Holst’s mystical Savitri. Tickets to all performances are $20, with student tickets at $10, available in advance on this website and at the performances.

“We will be introducing some extraordinary DFW-area performers, and some of your favorite singers from last year will return, as well. This season literally has something for everyone – comedy, drama and wonderful singing by our Opera in Concert artists!”, added Ms. Ross. “We are looking forward to welcoming you to our performances again this season!”
